My daughter Amanda and I have read books #1 and #2 and are gearing up to read book #3. We enjoyed both books and I am sure we will enjoy the 3rd adventure. We are very excited about the 4th book, The Great Payroll Robbery, because we participate in the Upper Hudson River Railroad payroll robberies every summer, I play the roll of the US Marshal and my daughter's roll is the outlaw Belle Starr. We have a blast every summer playing together and entertaining the children and their parents. It will be interesting to read how "The Great Payroll Robbery" unfolds. The family that plays together, stays together. Gary and Justin enjoy playing together. Oh, by the way, I'm 47 and Amanda is 20 years old. Sharon Sherman

Ive also been to the adirondacks and I love playing things like at a made up village. I also like things like exploring and saving animals. I think Justin and I would get along well. I think every one who reads this book will enjoy it and want to go and explore the adirondaks them selves!!

My family and I have really enjoyed your first two books. We have climbed Bald Mountain twice during family vacations and we have spent a lot of time in Old Forge and Inlet. Your books remind us of a lot of happy summers.

My mom bought the 3 books when we were in Inlet this summer. They were great! I liked reading about all the places we visited. We stayed on 4th Lake and are going back next summer. My mom has been going to Inlet her whole life! I can't wait for the next book. Hopefully,I'll be able to buy it next summer.

These two books are about real life and adventure in the area where the South Lewis children live. These books are real and very vivid to these young readers. They can relate with everything that is happening in these two books.

I really liked the book because it was all about the part of the Adirondacks near our camp. It made me think about camp and how I can't wait to get back there this summer. I really liked the first book. I put the second one on my Christmas list. I liked the chapter A Grand Finale. I also liked Dax Facts because you can learn about some of the things in the book.

We read Adirondack Kids with our class. I think I enjoyed it more than my students! I am inspired by the father/son team. I love that I know the places you have written about. As long as you keep writing, we'll keep teaching Adirondack Kids. Dax rules!

Your books are very good. Right now I'm reading Adirondack Kids 2. It is great. My favorite part was when they were looking for DAX and they saw the lady that fell down the slippery rock and Justin, Nick, and Jackie found them. I took a trip to Bald Mountain too. It looked just like in the book. The fire tower was blocked off like in the book. I went up as far as I could with my Dad. My whole family climbed the mountain. Dad, Mom, Justin, Me, Sarah, and my cousin, Karl. It was a long hike, but it was worth it. I liked the pictures that were in the book, and I also liked using my imagination for the pictures. I went to from First lake to Fourth lake on the boat tour. I could see Bald Mountain from the boat and then I saw the lakes from the mountain. My brother, Justin, carried food and the first-aid kit for our trip. We used it for a cut I got on the firetower. We all took water in bottles that my Mom bought. Your book was very, very good. I really liked it.

My son Brett brought it home as a school assignment. He loved it and so did I. It talked about things we have experienced ourselves in Old Forge. Take a trip over to Stillwater, that's great to.

Adirondack Kids really appeals to me because every summer my family stays in a camp on Fourth Lake. I especially liked the part with the bear because we have had our own encounters with bears at camp. Just reading the book makes me want to be there!

The Adirondack Kids book is a very interesting and well writtin book. Once you pick it up, you cant put it down. I think that the co-autors, Gary and Justin did a wonderful job with the book. I hope to see more books written by the authors!

This is such a good book..a lot of my friends have purchased it to give to their grandchildren...and we have a friend in North Carolina who has two sons, age 7 and 12. The 7 year old carries the book around the house all the time...he just loves the story...and his brother, the 12 year old..liked it as well. Can hardly wait for the next one to be ready for publication...Good work Justin...and Gary too.
